X'mas Celebration! (Part 1)

Christmas celebration this year was a simple affair as we were still recovering from the damage from our honeymoon. Dinner at Nanjya Monjya, located at Grand Copthorne Waterfront hotel. This is one of my favorite Japanese Restaurant.

Having Sake instead of red wine for a change =p

Edamame, one of my favorite starter/sides.
This is suppose to go with sake.

If I remember correctly, this is the Tenderloin Cube Steak. The Steak is cooked to perfect, not too hard. Love the sauce that goes with it. It has a bit of garlic and pepper taste? This dish is highly recommended!!!!

Saba fish was one of my favourite fish, and it is hard to find a restaurant that serves saba sashimi. I thought they do have it here, but when it came, horror horror! Wrong dish ordered, and it was not cheap.

This was actually the Saba Aji, not the Saba (Mackerel) that I like, which taste much sweeter.

Mixed Tempura

Yummy Sushi Platter!

Lots of sake and shochu at the background. This were the unfinished wine that the clients keep with the restaurant. This restaurant is frequent by many Japanese.

Tofu Mentai Cheese. This is one of the muz tried dish. The tofu is grilled on the hot plate with spicy cod roe and cheese spread over it. Taste better when eaten while is it pipping hot!

The Japanese Pizza. Ordered the Negi Yaki version as recommended by the lady boss. It actually Leek Pancake with soya sauce. There are a few variety of the Japanese pizza, especially for people who prefer to have some meat, seafood or even noodle in it.

This is Ochazuke, which means rice in a bowl of clear soup. There are 4 different soup base, Plum, Seaweed, Salmon and Spiced cod Roe. It is valued for money, ranging from $5 for the Plum soup base, to $8 for the Spiced Cod Roe.

Not for the big eaters though if you are planning to order this as your main dish.

Gal's allergic to wine flare up again after 2 cups of sake. Seems like she need to stay away from sake as well. Allergic to wine/sake/cocktails, but yet love to drink them.... haiz....

sad fish ....

Merry X'mas everyone!
Heading to Clarke Quay after this to immerse in the Christmas Mood! (^_^)
