A Peek at Our New House

Finally we were able to enter our new house after the "Door Opening" ritual. Snapping some photos to see the transformation of an empty shell to a fully renovated house.

It seems like playing the Pet Society game, where one can deco their own dream house !

The living cum dining area which looks very small. We were wondering how to fit the dining table and sofa within the confined space.

Our bedrooms door ...
looks pretty nice !

Our common bedrooms, which look so small.....

The common toilet

And this is our master bedroom. It is very very small ! Even my current bedroom is much bigger than this. After putting in a king-sized bed, doubt there's hardly any space for dresser and wardrobe. Hence, we will be knocking using the bedroom adjacent to the master room for walk-in wardrobe cum study room.

As the renovation is starting soon, both my gal and I were eager to see the transformation of this empty shell. Expect more renovation blogs in the coming few weeks as we check on the progress !

Feasting away @ Il Lido

Having missed out on Il Lido during the Restaurant Week, I was glad to have another opportunity to dine at the restaurant. Big Deals was having a great saving for dining at Il Lido, only at $26.80 nett per person for a 3-course lunch.

Woke up very early today and looking forward to my lunch. After travelling for around an hr, we finally arrive at the Sentosa Golf Club, where the restaurant is located.

Awesome view from the restaurant overlooking the Singapore Straits

The waiter looked kinda disappointed when we asked for ice water instead of ordering wines

The complimentary basket of bread. And I finished them all. Probably the portion of my main was too small and I'm hungry. And also, the bread was actually one of the nicest food for the day (the scallop dish was the other nice dish).

Gal browsing through the menu for any additional ala carte that we may wanna try

yap yap, i kept munching my bread most of the time =p

This was a complimentary dish from the chef, according to the waiter. Wonder what this actually was? It's Cheese !! Tasty cheese but the portion was too small. Well, this is fine dining =(

I tried experiment it, dipping my slice of bread with the cheese. It did not go well at all, a bad idea to mix them together.

There were only 2 choices of Appetizer to choose from, and this was one of them. It was decent, nothing special about it.

This was the other appetizer, a soup. It was so different from what was shown on Big Deals website, and it was different from what Rosalyn had too. Maybe they changed their menu. Or maybe it was just not our day =(

Nice golf course and the greens

This was my main. We ordered fish main course and a pasta, but beef was served instead of the fish. Regretted for not asking the waiter to change to the correct order.

The meat was quite tough and dry, and the blood taste was quite strong. Photo can be deceiving.

This was the additional ala carte that we ordered on top of the set meal. Scallop with cured pork cheek, leek cream and cheery tomato. This was the best dish among all. But make a guess the price of this dish.

It was a whopping $30 !! And that was before the GST and Service Charge. It means each scallop cost more than $10 ! However, at least we feel this was value for money compared to the other dishes that was served.

Gal's tomato pasta. It was nothing but ordinary.
I think I can cook this too.

Gal also feels that the scallop is the nicest of all

A romantic date ? =p

Gal was kinda of disappointed with the food as well. We looked around and found that most of the diners had purchased the vouchers from Big Deal as well, and were mostly having the same selection.

Ultra small portion for me !
Argh !! Not filling !!!

And this was our pathetic dessert, Creme Brulee. I think Rosalyn will feel more comforted after knowing what we had for lunch. =(

Even the coffee was not nice at all.
Think my gal didn't even finish her cup of coffee

The nth golfer that we saw ....

Though the food was not up to expectation, the views was beautiful.

Cam-whoring ... =x

It's coffee time !

more golfing actions

A shot of us looking fat and short.

Finally a trip to Paradise Dynasty !

Both of us took leave to give ourselves a break and final preparations for our photo shoot tomorrow. Since gal previously had purchase the Groupon vouchers for the Paradise Dynasty's signature 8 Flavors Xiao Long Bao, we decided to drop by here.

It was nice to shop or walk in Orchard in the weekdays. There was no crowd at all and it was so peaceful.

The interior of the restaurant is very cool and grand.
The ambience is good.

gal ordering the must-try Xiao Long Bao !!

The Legendary Xiao Long Bao from Paradise Dynasty. And one must eat it in a recommended sequence to be able to savor each individual flavor fully.

1) The original flavor - Perhaps the best xiao long bao (XLB) that we have tried so far. Fresh pork filling filled with sweet soup broth
2) Ginseng flavor (Green) - This was quite bitter to me as the ginseng taste was quite strong. Not my type of XLB.
3) Foie Gras (Brown) - Though both of us love Foie Gras, it was quite weird to have a Foie Gras flavored XLB. Taste rather bland
4) Black Truffle (Black) - This was one of best other than the original flavor. A luxury treat !
5) Cheese (Yellow) - Not too bad, but it will be better if the cheese is thicker.
6) Crab Roe (Orange) - This was quite sweet and nice too.
7)Garlic (Grey) - Pretty decent
8) Szechuan (Pink) - Gal's favorite flavor among the 8. Unique flavor and it's spicy.

Other than the XLB, we also ordered 2 other dishes to go with the XLB. One of them is the mouth-drooling Chong You Bing, or Onion Pancake. It was very cripsy, fried but did not seem to be oily at all.

We also ordered a bowl of La Mian to share. The soup was sweet and nice, and the noodles was QQ. Read from somewhere that Japanese Ramen originated from Chinese La Mian, but La Mian was much cheaper ! Y is this so??

The La Mian also had an egg which is similar to the Ramen!! The egg here is simply much better than what most Ramen shops serve in Singapore.

Had a little shopping after our meal before heading home early to have a good rest for our bridal shoot tomorrow. It was shock to laze around the whole day ! =p
