Lousy Steam Iron ??

Got this standing steam iron free from the housing loan that we took up. Thought it would be useful and we can save on an iron and ironing board, but that was not the case. Either we do not know how to use it properly, or it was not as good as the ones in departmental store since it was free, the results was bad.

It was hard to iron off the wrinkles on the shirt, and it seems like it only work best for very soft fabrics. Gave up trying and went to get an iron in the end.

Birthday Celebration

Today was my FIL's birthday. We had a simple dinner at one of the zi char place near our house. Gal bought a cake and we celebrated his birthday celebration back at home.

FIL was looking shy when we suddenly off all the lights in the house and surprised him a birthday cake with lighted candles.

Last day @ the Hotel

3 days 2 nites stay at the hotel passed so quickly. It's time for us to check out soon and head back home to our new house in SK.

Nespresso Machine in our bridal suite. Since we are considering getting a coffee machine for our house, we decided to try all the complimentary capsules given by the hotel.

Gal preparing her cup of coffee

Mission accomplished! The coffee tasted quite bitter and there wasn't any milk in it. Gal dun mind having black coffee, but i prefer milk-based coffee. We shall KIV first. =p

One last look at the view from our bedroom @ 22nd floor

It was time to head back home and prepare for work tomorrow. Sadz, juz one day break from work. Feeling real bluez !

Officially Mr and Mrs Teo!

We had a late nite yesterday with the brothers that stayed overnite at the hotel. We had a drinking session as we have a few bottles of wines and champagne left over from the banquet, and also some cakes from the hotel.

Surprisingly, all of us woke up juz in time for breakfast despite going to bed at around 3.30am.

our breakfast feast!

Nerdy us! =p

We left the hotel and went back to my Bedok house to pack some of the clothings to bring over to our new house. We were also counting our ang baos to calculate our damages. Gal received a cute Ang Bao with her Favorite Sanrio Character, Little Twin Star, from one of her sisters.

After all of us had settled our miscellaneous stuffs, we met together again at The Wine Company @ Sentosa Broadwalk, to celebrate Nicholas's Birthday.

Random photos of the main courses.

We each ordered a Chocolate Molten Larva Cake to share
and also as a birthday cake for the birthday boy

Naughty bday boy punished by his gal ! =p

R: Hey, where's the candles???

Some random shots of us. Ended the day with a late night movie with the couples, Immortals. A flopped movie, as most of us dozed off in-between the movie. Guess we were either too tired, or the movie was too boring/draggy !

Final Preparation !!

It was the eve of our big day. Ran through the checklist, packed all the stuffs that need to be brought to the hotel in boxes and did a last briefing with the brothers. I was feeling nervous and kept worrying how the event will unfold tomorrow.

Rented the Mini Cooper Cabri from Ace Drive and had it delivered to Poppy Flora for the decoration of the bridal car. This was the second time we engaged Poppy Flora, the first was during our ROM.

The back view of the car. I was so worried about handling the car that i drove at a speed of not more than 70km/h all the way to my house, even on the expressway! Mini Cooper is a very shiok car to drive, and it has a cool dashboard.

But i know i can never own one. =(

The number of Ang Baos that I need to prepare for all the "Key Appointment holders". And this exclude the Ang Baos for the kids during the Tea Ceremony.

A big hole in my pocket! It was indeed stressful with big events one after another. First, it was our house renovation. And now, our wedding banquet, and coming up next, our honeymoon trip to Europe!

Going to eat grass at the end of the yr liao!

And about have an early rest. Seriously, how many grooms and brides out there are able to do that on the eve of their big day? For me, I only had 2 hrs of sleep.

Final Fitting !

It was our final fitting today, and gal's parents tagged along as they wanna see the gowns choosen.

The front and back view of the day gown. A draw-string closet top is what gal likes. It would be even better if the top is heart-shape instead of a straight line.

The "Gua" and the evening gown. Gal was quite hesitant in choosing a Gua over a Tea dress for the Tea Ceremony. Guess it was not as bad as what she feel?

As for the evening gown, both of us like a black toga gown. The sad thing was we faced quite a lot of objections from our parents. As the nice evening gowns design were quite limited, we ended up choosing the one that gal has wore before during the the photo shoot.

It seems like red color clothing really suit gal!

Flowers !

It was exactly one week away from our big day. We were trying to finish up our DIY stuffs and running through our checklist to see if we have missed out on anything.

Went to Orchard Central to get some flowers for our dinning table centerpiece!

Guo Da Li (过大礼)

We juz had our Guo Da Li (Chinese Wedding Custom) today, and it was a busy day filled with Chinese Custom and random stuffs.

The wedding cakes (礼饼) is one of the items that the groom gotta bring over for the bride's family to be distributed together with the wedding invites. Managed to google and found this interesting and modern wedding cake packaging from Sweetest Moments, compared to the more traditional ones.

Since both our parents have no objection to the type of wedding cakes, we decided to go along with Sweetest Moment (http://www.sweetestmoments.com.sg/wedding/wdPackages.aspx?PGroup=wd2011) ! They have a variety of wedding cake packages.

The interior of the wedding cakes! It comes with a customised wedding card, where you can have a photo and short messages printed on it.

And most important, the cakes were delicious! =p

Some other essential stuffs:
cans of pork leg, traditional wedding sweets, and the "grandma's cake" requested by gal's grandma.

Got a basket to lay out the stuffs to bring to the bride's place!

Top Layer: Oranges; 4 pieces of jewellery; the ang baos
Middle Layer: Oranges; 2 bottles of Martel
Bottom Layer: Oranges; cans of pork leg

the stuffs that the bride's family accepts ......

and my 2 bottles of Martel become 2 bottles of Orange Juice!!!

My buddy as a helper, Sharon Aunty as the matchmaker! =p

Missing Bedok ......

I was packing my stuffs to move to the new house after my big day, which is less than 2 weeks away. Looking out from my window on the 20th storey, I am starting to miss Bedok.

is that hill / mountain part of the neighbouring country?

Staying in the East is so much convenient, where there is lots of good food, various cheap groceries shops, and travelling time to most parts of SG is short (minus the west side)! Hopefully we will be able to move back to the East side!
