Sunday Brunch @ Spruce

It's Sunday once again, but this time round, my gal is actually looking forward to this day. Cos we are going to have brunch. It has been a long long time since we last had brunch, partly because i always wake up late too. =x

To Spruce for our brunch !!

No reservation allowed, so we gotta queue and wait for our turn. Time is running down. The last order for brunch menu is @ 2.15pm and there seems to be alot of people in front of us. Waited for around 30 mins, juz barely in time for our orders.

Gal looking around, checking out what's the most popular dish before deciding. Can't seem to make up her mind though =p

Kid spotted happily enjoying the good food ...... good life !!

"Today's Scone with Jam and butter"

Unique square-shaped scone, though it's a bit dry, it taste quite nice over all. Goes quite well with the jam and butter

" Nice Scone, muz take photo !!! " - Gal

"hmm ....... well, when is my brunch coming ?? "

"Gal's The Spruce British Brekkie"

Well, everything is nice. Delicious sausage that is very soft, juicy and not though at all. The scrambled eggs is well done and it literally melts in your mouth. As for the baked bean, it's very sweet, but it's still good. Hidden underneath the breads are the bouncy mushrooms.

"My Travis' Eggs Benny"

One of the Benedict Collection. It comes with toasted Bagel, Cajun style prawns and of cos, egg benedict with Dill hollandaise and hot sauce. The prawns are very very fresh and the sauces over the benedict is awesome! Would definitely love to try others under benedict's collection. Yummy ! Though there are only 2 "breads", it's actually quite full.

busy in actions =p

the coffee freak juz can't do without her coffee

stoning after a full brunch .......

Nice Cloudy Sky

Taking a stroll along Esplande before catching Toys Story 3 @ Marina Square. Didn't expect Toys Story 3 to be nice, with laughter from beginning to the end and there a few touching scenes. Head back home to catch England vs Germany. And well, England got thrashed !!!

With the current group of "golden" players nearing the end of their careers, would there be promising players stepping up to fill their shoes in the next world cup?

Why is Friday so near to Monday while Monday is so far from Friday ???

Lazy Lazy Saturday.....

Lazy Saturday...... Had a late nite watching Spain vs Chile. Suppose to be a soccer match but the way Chile played, it seems more like a rugby match instead. Went to town as usual before settling down at Waraku Pasta for dinner. DBS having a 1 for 1 pasta, not a bad deal.

My gal's prawn and mushroom pasta with wafu sauce

My carbonara, with egg yolk and bacon, and lots of cheese as well. The beacon taste "doink doink", not the crispy kind that i tot it would be. Prefer my gal's, which taste a bit like Aglio Olio.

i like mine with lots of cheese ......
while she always prefer spicy food ....

It's either bad hair day for me, or my hair has grown pretty long. But i juz cut my hair like 2 weeks ago? It has been like ages since i had such a "neat" style.

Head to Selegie's TCC to catch the match between Uruguay and South Korea. Managed to get my gal to bet as well. She choose her fav category, odd or even goals while i bet on Uruguay to win. Match heats up after South Korea netted the equaliser. Exciting finish as the Koreans tried to stage another comeback.

With the score tie at 1-1, I'll need Uruguay to score, which seems unlikely while my gal juz need one more goal from either team. Both of us jumped in joy when Suarez netted again to put Uruguay back in the lead !! The whole tcc was silent and it seems like all the people there were Korean supporters. Kinda of sad to see Korean knocked out, as they do not deserve to go out.

Beerfest Asia 2010

The long awaited Beerfest Asia 2010 is finally here. Soccer and beers often go hand in hand, and this event is juz too good to be missed, especially World Cup is on going !. $10 per entry with 2 free beers of your choice, lots of babes and live screening of World Cup matches, what more can one ask for?

Though the event officially starts at 6pm, my gal and i reached around 5plus. Hanging around the Singapore Flyer while waiting for the event to start. Nice scenery, with lots of kites up in the air.

Lonely lady waiting for someone to bring her in ? =p

All geared up for the events. Collected our first bottle of beers at the entrance. All purchase of beers or food at the beerfest are in poker chips. Should have kept one of the chips as souvenir

"Would you like to have some beers?"

The beers, the race cars and .......
the guy who wanna play poker !

Well, i suppose this should be the correct way of drinking the beer. How many of us actually gup down our bottle of beer?

Beers at @ 6pm ?? Guess it's a bit early

And the match begins ....... Paraguay vs Slovakia

the last 5 bottles of beers for the nite

"Are ya done with the shooting??"

the not-so-nice rojak that cost almost the same price as the beers !

Celebrity Couple spotted @ beerfeast ??
and the paparazzi were busy snapping away

Great nite, great company! it would be even better if tomorrow is not a Monday !

photo shooting outing ??

A last min decision to go kite flying @ Marina Barrage. When we reached there, it's already 6.30pm and the sun is setting. This is also supposed to be a photo shooting session with all of us bringing our dslr. The only thing missing...... A tripod......

I was involved in setting up the kite too.... that is after these shots. We were trying to get our kite into the sky for 30 mins and it fails. No wind at all. Soon after, it rains...... ZzZzZz ..... It never fail to rain whenever i bring my dslr out.

Last 2 shots before scrambling for shelter......
hard to get a proper shot w/o tripod

Head to Aston at Katong for dinner....
and the cam whoring session begins

First try with the 50mm lens. Not as easy as i thought. Need to move quite far away from the subject and steady hand is needed. Any slight movement would result in blur image captured. Guess this is the only shot that can show the bokeh effect. The rest of the background are dull brown walls.

Deep in thoughts

Reverting back to the kit lens is much more comfortable to shoot. Alvin trying out his balancing act.

Trying out the colored flash from Roy. It's a color filter place in front of the flush. Suppose to create a nice effect. But end results? Blue flash against a brown walls and an over-exposed shot. =p

IBC bottles memories

Head to Clarke Quay for some photo shooting after dinner. Time flies, and it's nearly 2am. Time to head home. It's sun and wkend is coming to an end soon ........
