BKK Trip Day 3

It's our 3rd day in BKK, and the weather looks good !! Good weather is important as we are heading to Chatuchak market. Looking for some good bargains!

But first of all, gotta grab some food for breakfast so that we have energy to chiong Chatuchak!! Breakfast @ our hotel and window seats again!!

Gal's fav bread section .... they do have a wide range of bread ....

Chief cooking my egg omelet .....

Gal's nicely decorated food

Gal likes the cereal very much. She was actually looking forward to tomorrow's breakfast so that she can have another bowl of cereal !!

The fruits were surprising not sweet nor nice at all. The pineapple is not juicy and it's sour, the honeydew was hard and blend. And we avoided the grapes after just one piece !! it spoils the taste. Evil gal force one down on me. As for the dragonfruit, normal !

Apparently, this plate is wat gal took for me. The cha siew bao was quite delicious, with sweet, tasty cha siew inside. The grilled saba were dried and cold. Guess it would be nicer if it is kept warm? Siew Mai was the worst in this plate, totally tastless. We could not taste the prawn in it. Kinda of disappointing.

And this is wat i get for myself !!! See the nice coconut balls !!!! Yummy Yummy. The dory fish blends well with the tar tar sauce alike and the french toast is simply irresistible !

At first glance, this can easily pass off as a salted egg ! But it's actually a custard bun !! Gal trying to be Ultraman here !!

Ok, breakfast done, time to head to Chaktuchak. We were advised by the hotel staff to take BTS to Chatuchak instead of taxis due to the heavy traffic condition. We were told it will probably took us 45 mins to reach there via cab compared to 15 mins via BTS. Haha, spotted an angry baby diao-ing me in the train ....

Look at the grapes ! The stall helper is totally hidden behind it !

Gal checking our some spa product .... eventually bought a coffee body scrub
strong but nice coffee smell !

Lots of cute puppies @ Chatuchak !!
and they are all quite affordable !!!! Gal still likes her toy poodle best !

Probably the most handsome doggie in the market. I didn't manage to get a shot of my fav golden retriever. It's too popular, always surrounded by people and playing with people. Not able to get a clear view of it.

Are these 2 pugs playing dead? They seems to be sick though, especially the one with tummy facing up. Tried tickling his paws but no reaction. The one on the left was breathing quite heavily....

If only we can bring one of this home !

The cute puppies love attentions

This cat looks particularly sad. Looks like it wanted to get out badly. Maybe cats doesn't like to be kept in an enclosed place?

Didn't expect to find squirrels here too. Y would someone wants to keep squirrels as pets? More sad photos to follow......

Squirrels are very actively and nimble by nature. But here, it looks sick, tortured, and inactive. Most of them just lay motionlessly inside the cages. Maybe there's not enough room for them to roam about? Ropes are tied around the squirrels' necks and this restrict their movements. It looks inhumane ! Can't bare to take anymore photos after tat.

Jack Sparrow spotted at Chatuchak !!!!

Coconut Ice Cream is a must try @ Chatuchak ! There are a few stalls selling it but this stall looks the most appealing and stand out from the rest ! Nice, friendly stall owner too. Strongly recommended, especially on a hot day. One coconut ice-cream only cost 25 bahts, which is slightly more than SGD 1. Both of us were given free coconut drinks by the owner ! Awesome !

Close-up view of the coconut ice-cream

Look at the bowl of quails' eggs. There are easily 7-8 eggs in a bowl ! Can't imagine eating the whole bowl of eggs ......... High cholesterol !!

Bought a lot of food and tibbits for our families and friends, and also shoes, some accessories and denim vest for ourselves. Guess this place is only good for buying shoes and maybe accssories. Clothings wise, it's hard to browse through and the quality and design is not any better than those in Platinum Mall. Head back to hotel to put our stuffs before heading for our spa session.

Reached the spa at around local timing 4.30pm but was told there's only slot at 5.30pm. Lavana Spa was one of the recommended spa in forum, hence pre-booking is advised. Pass our time @ a nearby Starbucks outlet.

Lavana Spa was cosy and nice! Took up the 3 hrs package @ 1930 baht per pax. There is an on-going promotion, either 10% of the bill or a free 1hr facial massage. Took up the free facial massage, ended up spending 4 hrs @ Lavana !!!! Service is very good and the massage is very comforty. Dozed off a few times the person had to pat on my back to ask me flip over!

4 hrs passed quickly and both of us enjoyed the massage !! We were given a complimentary dessert at the end of our massage.

After our massage session, it's already 9.30 pm (10.30 sg timing) !! Imagine having our dinner at 10.30pm ? This is quite a popular seafood outlet, hence decided to give it a try. Perhaps i was too hungry and hurried through the shooting process, or the food does not look as presentable compared to the previous restaurant. The photos of the food doesn't look very appealing!

SomBoon Seafood was our dinner place, located at Surawong Road

Chilli crab ! the paste is delicious ..... Not too spicy, but quite oily though. The paste goes well with the steam rice too !

Morning Glory with oyster sause

Fried Vermicelli with Tiger Prawns. The fried vermicelli is quite nice, though a bit salty. Prawns are fresh too

Prawn balls and prawn rolls.....
It taste normal, a bit like the "hei zou" in our local zi car

Fried Cotton fish with special thai sauce. Crispy on the outer, tender inside. Not too sure wat's specie is this, but it's recommended. Hence we ordered this to try.

Man selling long string of sauages @ Patpong area

Head to Patpong to walk walk before we try to settle down somewhere for the World Cup match ! Great match between Uruguay and Germany ! Another late nite for us and we actually gotta be ready by 7am in the morning for the River Chao Phraya tour!! Zzzzzz....
