Bkk Trip Day 1

After watching the WC between Germany and Spain, head straight down to the airport. Gal so excited about the game but fall asleep 5 mins into the game. But she managed to catch the 2nd half though. Zombie-fied for me =p

Reach T1 around 5.30am, check in and went for our breakfast. This time round, it's Coffee Bean for us instead of Starbucks. The only way to keep myself awake? Snapping around!!

Gal's water bottle is spoiled, keep hinting to me to get her a nice bottle. Hugging a cute teddy too, but guess Starbuck's one is nicer?

My gal's club sandwich, or something like tat....
forgot the name =p

My Muffin with Salmon and Egg ......
Colorful breakfast always cheer one up

After boarding the plane, trying to take a few shots of us and outside the plane. Guess both of us were too tired. We actually dozed off after the plane took off. The next time we open our eyes, we were nearing Bangkok.

Arriving at the airport and off we go to look for a cab to our hotel, Baiyoke Sky. Kena cheated to take a cab at a booth which quoted us 400 Baht. The next time we go, definitely would flag a cab which charges using the meter.

Reached Baiyoke Sky hotel around 11am and was told to wait for another hr before we can check in. Phew, tot we can only check in @ 2pm. We were given a cup of drink at a golf teeing bar while waiting for them to prepare our room. An hr juz passed in a blink of an eye and the room was ready near 12pm. To our surprise, we were given a free upgrade to a superior suite ! That's like a difference of around SGD $70.

The room is very spacious, which include a living room, a dinning area, with the bedroom separated by a door. There another LCD tv on the wall and another door leading to a spacious bathroom. Splendid view from 31st floor

After unpacking our stuffs, head straight to the first shopping haven, Platinum Mall. Not to forgot to try the Japanese Restaurant, Fuji Restaurant. Had a wonderful time at Fuji over in Phuket, hence we decided to go back again for our jap feasting! Japanese cuisine is always the top of our list

It was damn hot at BKK, ordered a coconut ice-blended and gal chose lime ice-blended. From the look of my eyes, one can easily tell it's refreshing and cool !

First dish, Chawanmushi ! Nice and with lots of fillings !
Look at the mushroom and crab meat !!

Gal is quite a fan of Gyoza, so we order a plate.... Cripsy on the outside and soft in the inside. Best of all, it's not oily.

Up next is a must-have dish for both of us !!! My all-time favorite Saba Sashimi and Gal's all time favorite Hotate Sashimi ! Super duper sweet and juicy !!!! Slurp Slurp

Delicious soft shell crab maki !
The sauce is a bit unique compare to those found in sg

Forgot wat's the name of this dish. Simply speechless !!! The top layer of the salmon is torched to make it cooked, with the bottom of the salmon uncooked ! Goes well with the raddish on top !

Another nice dish, Katsudon ! The egg is not so cook, hence soft and slimy feel. The chicken is tender and not dry or overcook

a super duper close-up of the nice salmon sushi !!!

happy feasting !!!

By the time we left Platinum Mall, it's already late evening. Gal was attracted by lots of stuffs, especially the accessories

Lots of roadside stalls selling the BBQ stuffed Fish
was wondering if the white substance are actually salt....

Dinner Place at Once Upon a Time, recommended by the people from forum. Nice cosy restaurant that is probably converted from a bungalow. Located at 32 soi Petchaburi 17. It is located opposite Phantip Plaza. Simply love the interior design of the house

busy snapping away..... the napkin is folded in a shape of lotus

delicious and spicy Tom Yam Goong !
All the ingredients are very fresh, especially the prawns

The hidden pineapple rice ! unqiue taste and the pineapple is very sweet ..... So sweet that it actually attracted ants to it !

Seafood souffle in coconut yums.
Yummy Yummy !!

A must have appetizer, Pomelo Salad !
Didn't noe pomelo can actually taste so yummy with special thai sauce

Gal juz can't take her eyes off all the food =p

There's a staircase leading to the 2nd floor. At the 2nd floor, there are 2 rooms nicely decorated bedroom with local feel.

After our dinner and a little walk, decided to head to somewhere nice to chill. Another place recommended, WTF ! Btw, WTF stands for Wonderful Thai Friendship! It's locate at Alley 7 Sukhumvit soi 51. Took a cab there but it's still hard to find, and the cabbie is not familiar with the place too.

It's a funky hangout and has very nice cocktails, good tapas and great ambience. A place of reasonable price and it actually has a art gallery upstairs.

Reach back hotel near local timing 1am. Decided to rest early as both of us slept very little the nite before. It's going to be a long day tmr !!
