BKK Trip Day 2

2nd day was a mad morning rush for us. Both us woke up late, forgetting that the time in our phones are already in local timing. Almost didn't manage to make it in time for our breakfast buffet. But still managed to take a quick shot before making our way to the 87th floor for our breakfast !

The window side view overlooking BKK was awesome. 15 mins more before the breakfast ends. Off we go to grab some food before they cleared it.

So the breakfast was finger-licking good? =p Yap yap ! Maybe because both of us do not have high expectations of it and it turn out to be quite a good spread. The coconut ball on gal's plate was very very delicious. At first look, it looks like a normal fishball.

The coconut ball taste like a pancake skin with sweet coconut fillings inside. Best eaten when warm, cos the coconut fillings will burst out upon biting !

My gal is quite a "bread" gal. Never fails to try out all the different varieties of bread. They do have toaster too, so that you can have your bread toasted.

As for my pick, it's really an international breakfast ! I have got rice ball, tamago (both jap), prata ( singaporean), and scramble eggs (english) ! All of them are nice ! Or maybe because i'm quite hungry. More breakfast dishes below.

After our breakfast, head off to Isetan where gal's stocking up her lingerie. The building beside Isetan, Central World is still in a bad state as a result of the riots. Looks like it's going to take some time before they are able to restore the building. It's very very hot and the doggie is feeling the heat too. Fyi, the doggie is actually "helping" to sell bubble tea.

Siam Paragon was our next destination. Their food court was so different from those in Singapore. Lots of varieties and all so nicely decorated. Not a bit of food court smell too. Definitely not sianz of visiting such food court over and over again.

Gal checking out some cosmetics product @ Boots

Sawadee Ka ! Greetings from the Ronald McDonald. Nice Ice Tea Float !!

Explored the Paragon Cineplex. It looks quite posh. Gal wanted to catch Knight and Days but too bad there wasn't any late timing available. The latest time slot was 10.20pm. There are a few cool collectibles @ the popcorn counters, which is not available @ Singapore too.

Lunch Time ! Settle for a thai steam boat at Coca Restaurant located at Siam Center.

Thai Chili with spices, lime and garlic, sauce for the food

This seafood platter was only slightly more than 500 baht ! And it has fresh prawns, scallops, mushroom, dumplings, sotong, etc !!!

Cooling grass jelly with milk for me and cranberry juice for my gal

Paul's relative ? well, it's fate was not quite the same =p

Attracted by the nice photos of the dishes, gal decided to ordered 2 more dishes. 2 stuffed Tiger Prawns for us .......

.... and crispy fried yam ! After our lunch, head towards MBK for some more shopping. MBK is something like Platinum Mall, a wholesale center, but the pricing are much higher.

Took a cab from MBK to a Naraya store over at Silom Road. A bad choice, got stuck in the jam for nearly 45 mins. The travelling time would be reduced significantly if we take BTS there. Gal was so happy shopping at the Naraya store and the basket was filled up in no time.

Dinner was at Baan Khanitha Thai Cusine, located at Soi Sukhumvit 23. Another cosy place gal searched and wanted to try.

Nice interior and structures

Complimentry appetizer by the restaurant ..... We would have to put all the ingredients on a slice of leaf, rolled it and eat it. The leaf is very "raw", and gal was joking if they actually plucked it off their backyard

Pomelo Salad again !!!! But we are not sick of it. Delicious and yummy !!!!

Tom Yam Goong. Spicy, thick and not so choky ! Though we ordered a small bowl, the restaurant split it into 2 portion for us. How thoughful are they !

We love this stir-fried Morning Glory ! But is this Kang Kong?? The stem looks hollow and resembles Kang Kong. If it is, didn't know Kang Kong can also taste so nice as it is usually cooked with sambal chili.

Stir-fried Chicken with Thai sauce. Soft, tender chicken.
but the green peas taste bitter !! and gal actually wants me to experience it too.

Walking down the street towards the main road, we passed by 2 lanes which resemble mini Patong. Lots of thai gals sitting outside the pubs to attract tourists inside.

After a little walk, we took a cab to Vertigo, located at Banyan Tree hotel. On the website, the chilling area looks stunning. But what greeted us was not quite the same. Manage to find a spot by the side, where we can have the city view.

Vertigo is quite a "atas" place, so we juz settle down for a drink and photo taking. The drinks actually cost more than any of our dinners! Bellini Champagne for me and Mocktail for my gal. Photos were quite red and gotta try a few times with the manual WB settings to get it rite.

Breath-taking views of the BKK at nite.
The tallest building on the bottom left photo is actually our hotel. And i actually manage to zoom in at it !!

Backed in the hotel at around 2am local timing !!! Late nite everyday for us and this is suppose to be a relaxing and recuperating trip for us =p A look at all the Naraya Bags gal bought, and that's not all ! Nitez and chiong-ing Chatuchak tommorow !! Yawnz .....
