BKK Trip Day 4 Part 1, River Chao Phraya

Woke up ard 6.30am and prepare for the River Chao Phraya tour. Stayed up late the nite before for the world cup match and slept for only 3 hrs only. No time for breakfast, grabbed some buns and drinks from the 7-11 store @ the hotel lobby.

Met our tour guide at around 7.30am and off we go. There were only 2 of us and we were chauffeured around in a Volvo car ! We were both surprised that the tour guide keep offering to take photos for us!

Nice Scenery !!

And here we begin our River Chao Phraya tour in a boat. And this is our tour guide for the boat. Guess most of the tourists did not really pay attention to what he was saying but admiring the surrounding scenery. Images through my eyes .....

hmmm..... what are these policeman doing here ??

Gal was saying this is like nothing more than a big big long kang ! =p

there goes the guide offering to help us take photos again =p

a wide varieties of cans and woks ! a restaurant ?

pigeons spotted nimbling offerings food..... juz like those in SG !

nice graffiti art

Can you see what i see ?? Spotted a water monitor lizard by the bank of the river !! Imagine finding one at your backyard !! It is quite huge !

Made-shift shelter ...... windmills .... nice leaves ......

was told by the guide this is the biggest buddha statue around ......

Reached one of the stop-over, the snake farm ...... you have an option whether to visit the farm. Ticket cost 150 baht per pax.

Though this is a snake farm, and has snake performance, it has other animals as well. Some are cute, like rabbits and guinea pigs .... well... others we feel sad for them .....

they have crocodiles, monkeys and exotic birds ......

These animals here looks sad .... they are all held captive in a small cage. The deers only have an area smaller than my living room to roam about. And the eagle, doesn't really have any space to fly around ! Wondering if all these animals are been kept illegally ...... The living conditions for them are quite poor.

time for the snake performance .......

look at the teeth of the posionus snake ... Hisssssss ......

waiting for the boat to pick us up to continue with the remaining course of the river

Catfishes are abundant in the river .... perhaps the river is not as dirty as it look ?

The famous Wat Arun, temple of the dawn. Did some research and found that Wat Arun looks best in the evening during sunset, with the sun setting behind it. It's a pity that we are unable to catch that, but it still look majestic in the day !

More photos of Wat Arun from different angles ...... the boat is moving too fast ! =s

The last shot before leaving the river, love this shot. After the river tour, the guide also brought us to a jewellery and tailor shop behind dropping us back in our hotel.
