Day 4 of Bangkok Trip!

There was no program in the morning, hence we woke up later than usual. After which we walked around Pratinum Mall and Siam Center before going for our lunch at Mandarin Oriental Hotel.

Lunch was at Le Normandie, which gal has made a reservation while in Singapore.

Complimentary from the restaurant

Both of us had the 3 course set lunch.
The first dish served, the Pan Fried Red Mullet.
Crispy skin while the soft meat was not dry at all!

The other starter that we chose was a cold dish, Crabmeat Remoulade.
Super like!

We wanted to try another starter from the menu, and the waiter recommended to us the Asparagus soup. Immediately after we have placed the order, we started to regret ordering a soup over other dishes.

We were thinking why on earth do we order a soup, and it was a asparagus soup. How good can it be? As soon as we had the first spoonful, we were won over by it. Thick and creamy, it was awesome. It did not have the vegetable taste at all, and one would never have guess it was a asparagus soup. No regrets ordering it!

Here came the main dish, Pan-fried fillet of Barramundi! Barramundi, also known as Asian seabass, is very popular in Thai cuisine. This photo does not do justice to it. The thin, crispy skin had a nice burnt smell while the flesh peels off easily and literally melts in the mouth. And the fish was very fresh.

This was one of the popular dish among the diners, the Roasted Rack of Lamb. I am not a lamb lover, and if it is not handled properly, will have strong "weird" taste, which can be quite a turn off. It was quite a risky decision to order it, and thankfully, it was not too bad.

The mobile dessert counter at our table.
We can have a choice of 2 slices of cakes each.
And that means we are able to try 4 different types of cakes!

We were quite puzzled why the waiter took quite a while in serving the cakes. Turned out that they were actually creating some artwork on the plates using the different dressings. And the designs for gal and I were different. It is not easy being a waiter here, you got to have a talent in art too!

Gal's plate.

And this was for me.

Besides the cakes, there were 4 different flavours of macaroons too.

Beautiful hotel lobby

Taking the boat back to Sapan Taksin

Sad looking doggies spotted =(

We have heard about the new shopping mall, Terminal 21, where one can "travel over the world" under one roof. The shopping mall, located beside Asok Station, has a different country theme on every level.

The Caribbean theme at the basement level

Cool Japanese theme toilet!

Fortune cat!

It was a nice experience exploring the mall, taking photos. However, this looks more like the shopping centre along Orchard road. Things here are much more expensive than any other places. Don't think we would return again if we are to travel to Bangkok again.

Our dinner at Queen of Curry, another recommendation by bloggers! It seems to be a popular restaurant among the tourist. Majority of the diners were foreigners, and it was quite packed! We got to wait for a while before seated.

Just 2 dishes for dinner?
Definitely no! =p

Drinking beer every single day cos it was very cheap.
Beer for ya Sir? =p

Delicious spread of Thai cuisine!
Nice Tom Yam soup, Thai Fish cakes and Pineapple rice!!!!

More dishes!!
More, more, and many more!!!
Cheap and tasty dishes!!

Chilling time at Lebua State Tower - Sky bar.

KO ?!?!?

Beautiful scenery of Bangkok city

Last shot of the night before we head back to the hotel. Holidays always seems so short! It was already the 4th day and we will be heading back to Singapore tomorrow. Back to reality soon!
