High Tea Buffet @ The Barracks

First of all, pls bare with me for the massive photos (28 photos to be exact). Try as I might to reduce the numbers of photos i had taken, but couldn't cut it down further. Tried to combine some photos into collages but still find that it deserved to be shown independently =p

And finally, the long awaited High Tea Buffet @ The Barracks. And the reason? It is only available on Thursday and Friday. Both of us took a day off from work to indulge in this buffet. This could be one of the best high tea buffet place, due to the price (@ ard $23.50 nett !) and the nice surrounding. Definitely a good place to catch up with friends or a laid-back place for couples like us to pass an afternoon.

Browsing through the menu to see what's available on the menu as this was our first time here. Since we were here for the buffet, the menu was meant only for the selection of drinks. FYI, they serve Skinny Pizza here too. Seems like they are under the same company.

And one strange thing that caught our attention, they served Tau Sar Pao?!?! Hmmm..... How did the pao fit in here??

Trying to fit the whole area into my camera.
Looks like a little greenhouse !

Gal with her sweet pastries

Trying to capture all the food tat's available for the buffet ...
starting from the cakes that's the furthest from the door ....

Up next was the beautiful three-tier sandwiches.
and it was pretty popular too....

closed-up shot of the sandwiches.....

another closed-up shots .....
I believed it needs no further elaboration from me =p

Introducing the Raspberry Eton Mess .....
If you like raspberry, you may find tis pastry to your liking.
Gal help me to eat my raspberry as i find it too sour (@_@)

Yummy German Chocolate Cup !!
hmmm ... but y the "German" ?
I love Chocolaty stuffs !!

Another 3-tier !!
All 3 were nice, except for Parsnip Cupcakes (bottom), which is a bit too creamy =p

hmmm ..... A Vietnamese dish !
I skipped this as I'm afraid it may contain peppermint leaves, which I dun like.
The peanut paste looks tasty though ....

I love Creme Caramel.
It was nicely presented, but if only it taste as gd as it looks ....
It was one of the few disappointment ....

a garden affair ? =p

Despite the long name, this is juz a bread pudding !! =p
nice, sweet & soft ....
however, one should eat it while it's still hot.
bread pudding when cold doesn't taste nice at all

err.... where's the tag ????
forgot the name of the pastry =p

The buffet comes with a selection of drinks, but it is not free flow. If you have chosen a pot of tea, like my gal, you can actually ask for a refill of hot water. So perhaps it's better to choose tea over other beverages? And me? I chose orange juice.

my first servings !! =p
More to come !!

finally a shot taken together ! =)

helping myself to the second servings !!

gal was determined to try all the pastries =p

Our second or third servings?
i couldn't remember =p

Cheers !! oh yeah, the pizza was not included in the buffet
dun underestimate our appetite !! =p

Gal wanted to try one of the skinny pizza, so we ordered the Squid-Ink Pizza. I believe the black crust is due to the squid ink with seafood toppings.

A slice of the pizza.
Thin, crispy crust with generous seafood toppings.
For me, i like it with a bit of Tobasco Sauce.

Lastly, waffle with ice-cream and strawberries !!! It's from the buffet btw. The waffle has a sweet taste, crispy on the outside and yet soft inside. Though without any maple syrup, it goes well with the ice-cream and chocolate from the fondue. The waiter would actually prepare this waffle upon request. I though it would be more fun if we can prepare the waffle ourselves! =p

Gal told me this unique deco is a muz-take shot. Try as i might, i could not get a good composition of the deco. The huge table makes everything else seem miniature !!

Last shot of the place before making our wat to the exit. I guess i won't mind coming back again if I'm ever on leave on a Thursday or Saturday. It was a good trip for me, plenty of things for me to shoot and great, tasty food as well. Not forgetting good company, my gal =)
