High Tea @ K Ki

Promise gal that I'll bring her to K Ki to satisfy her cakes craving, and here we were at K Ki. It was Sunday, the last day before my reservist starts. Hence we decided to go on a feasting craze. We had breakfast @ MOS earlier and a little walk at Parkway Parade before coming to K Ki.

Btw, K Ki means cake in Japanese, and not the "Ke Qi" in dialect.

K Ki is a small cozy cafe located at Ann Siang Hill. We regretted not coming here earlier. Most of the cakes were already sold out, leaving only 2 choices left despite that it was only 3pm.

worn out shoe been put to gd use !!

the shop inside K Ki which sells vintage stuffs .....

Touring around the shop and finding our childhood memories ......

Gal loves anything tat's looks sleepy or dreamy.....
Grumpy catz at the top right corner ...

I used to have these glasses too ....
simple stuffs form the past seems to be in demand nowadays ....
I should start keeping some stuffs too =p

Not only the cakes are nice and popular, so were the teas. Teas were sold out too, hence both of us ordered latte. 2 same Lattes but 2 different colors ?? Well, it is very smooth and nice !! One of the nicest latte that we had so far. Too bad the serving was quite small.

The only 2 choices of cakes left.
But they are good !
The rectangular one is call Kinabaru, and the bottom is Cafe Dumo

Gal's cake looks big in her hand but mine looks small =p

Gal's checking out what others were having .....

Kinabaru (left): Layers of coconut mousse, passion fruit creme and chocolate sponge base. This mousse cake is quite different from the normal mousse cake. One would not feel sick eating it after a few mouthful. When someone like my gal who detest mousse cake says it good, well it can't be that bad.

Cafe Dumo (right): It's a mixture of chocolate and coffee. Coffee lovers may love this cake. Taste bitter sweet and i love it !

Gal loves taking cross-sectional shots =p

It's a pity that we don't get to try the more popular cakes like Antoinette, Mont Blanc, Mona and the Strawberry Tart. However, we were not disappointed with the cakes that we had today either. We will definitely be back for the cakes and the latte soon !!

It's Friday !!

It's Friday and i was on compliance leave. It was shiok to sleep till you wake up naturally. Met up with gal after her work and went for a simple dinner before heading to her house.

Us with the some cute props ...
The Piyo Piyo looks funny with the mini shopping bag !!
It was actually a DIY mini gift bag made by gal.

We finally used up the remaining 3 polaroids from the zoo trip. Polaroids are fun and full of anticipation and the color looks nice.

Gal's Dad Birthday

Dinner @ Soup Restaurant to celebrate Gal's Dad Birthday. No reservation was allowed and we had to queue for half an hr before it's our turn.

And we have a special guest joining us for the dinner, gal's grandma.

the brothers ....

all of them were enjoying their soup, except for me
generally, i dun like most Chinese soups as i find it bitter.

the star of the day !!! =p

gal's cute grandma been served =)

My favorite dish, Samsui Chicken.
I love it wrapped with cabbage !!

Look at the dishes ......
tat's a lot for 7 people
we are still missing the fish and desserts

nice fried rice, but I'm starting to miss the one from No Signboard.....

I was feeling very full at the end of the dinner. Somehow if there is any food left on the table, they'll end up on my plate. =p

Wkends are always tat short, feeling the Monday Bluez already..... Lots of photos to filter and upload and my reservist is coming up. Going to have short hair on Xmas Day again. =(

Brunch at Riders Cafe

Finally we managed to make a reservation for brunch at the Riders Cafe. I have always wanted to try the brunch after seeing good reviews from blogs. Took a cab down to the place and had a horrible journey. The cab was literally filled with cigarette smoke. I was coughing throughout the journey and having difficulty in breathing. What's worse was that the cigarette smoke lasted the whole journey! It was as though the cab driver have smoked in the cab with the window closed !

Thank god we make it alive to Riders! Finally, some fresh air for us !!

There seems to be changes to the menu. Whatever we read from the various blogs, we could not find it in the menu. Gal was very sad that they no longer serve pancakes, which is recommended by many bloggers. In the end, we randomly picked 2 mains which appeals to us, and we hope it turn out good.

I chose "The Usual". There is mushrooms, bacon, sausage, bread and poached egg. It was quite disappointing. Only the sausage taste good. Perhaps i should have go with scrambled eggs instead of poached eggs. There were no dressing for the eggs and the egg yolk was hard. I was expecting the yolk to ooze out when i cut it across.

Gal chose the Egg Benedicts with Ham and Bacon. When it was served, we were surprised by the presentation of the dish. There were 2 poached eggs on top of a slice of bread, not like the usual Egg Benedict. It was normal as well. Both of us prefer Egg Benedicts from The Spruce and Flutes by the Fort. Kinda of sad.

Err..... Dunno Wat am i doing with the sausage in my hand....

Our desserts, Scone and Awfully Sinful Chocolate cake with ice-cream.

Her daily dose of caffeine !!

Butter? Jam? Cream?
I can't make up my mind
In the end, I had all three ! =p

Do you know wat will happen after eating this??
Scroll down... =p

Some ungalm shots !
trying to entertain ourselves and see who has the dirtiest teeth !

Gal spreading her scone and tasting at the same time,
to ensure she got the correct mix =p

juz random shots, her eyelashes ........

and her big big ear-rings .....

ok, we are done with our brunch !!
One of the fastest brunch we had...

Gal juz wan a shot of her with her cute umbrella.
Btw, It's drizzling and the umbrella was not juz a prop =p

Overall, both of us feels that it is not worth making the trip down to the Riders Cafe for Brunch. The place is only accessible by car or cab. The total damage for transportation was half of the bill of the brunch. I believe there are much better places for brunch. We then took a cab down to town for our routine shopping.

Perhaps it's time for me to find extra sources of income for a second hand weekend car.

A Date with David Archuleta

My gal and I were able to attend a private concert by David Archuleta @ Zouk, courtesy of gal's friend whose working at Singtel. We were given 2 VIP tickets, where we can skip the long queue, access the VIP area on the upper deck with free-flow house pour!

However, the view at the VIP area wasn't as good as those standing at the bottom. There were lots of object hanging from the ceiling which obstructed the views. Not much room to move around too.

Here's David Archuleta with his cool-looking guitarist. David is only 20 yrs old by the way, looks really young. He can sing live really well !

A very friendly guy and loves to interact with the audience throughout the concert

One of the fans actually threw a stalk of hand-made flower onto the stage, and David was nice enough to pick it up. But this triggered other fans to start throwing gifts for him onto the stage for him as well. After picking up a few gifts, he politely asked the fans not to throw any more gifts onto the stage =p

Not only he sings well, he can play keyboard too !
A nice solo by him ....

This is the cool guitarist ! =p

the last song for the nite ......

Goodbye and till we see again !
Nice songs throughout the nite.
If only i do have nice vocal like him....

Wedding Show @ Furama CityCentre

Dun rub your eyes, it's not a typo error either. Attended a Wedding Show at Furama CityCentre. You may wonder where is this hotel and why would i actually attended this Wedding Show. Well, the hotel is located near the CTE Havelock Road exit and is very old.

The purpose of attending this wedding show is actually to meet up one of the vendor, Academy Photography and Videography and view their portfolio as we are currently sourcing for videography services.

Thankfully UOB credit card holders are entitled free entry. By the way, this hotel serves Halal food. I cannot imagine a banquet dinner that is halal. Nothing much to shoot around, and the food was not nice either, opps ....

The highlight of the day was a wedding fashion show by Yvonne Creative Bridal Studio showcasing their gowns and ROM Dress, but most of them are so-so too. This is one of the prettiest model with the best ROM dress for the day i think.

The themes available. Make a guess for the price? To my surprise, it's not that cheap. It cost close to $900 per table on a wkend. Well, juz for a bit more, you can have a much better banquet dinner at Holiday Inn Orchard City Centre. There was lucky draw, which we didn't win anything.
