Our Last Stop, Arteastiq !

This was a last minute decision to come to Arteastiq and indulge in a High Tea Session. Previously I have purchased vouchers from Groupon for a High Tea Session @ $18 nett per person, hence we decided to come here and try it out.

Arteastiq has always been one of the High Tea places that we wanted to try, but it is quite costly. Weekdays at Orchard is so peaceful, and there were hardly anyone in the Tea Lounge.

Gal is always so busy.
flipping through the menu to order her meals ......

checking out what others are having and if it looks gd ........

and then flipping through the magazines ...... =p

Here comes my cool fruity tea, my Lychee Tea. It was pretty sweet and refreshing with real big lychees in it. The tea set comes with 2 mini choco biscuits as well.

Did I mention that the lychees were very big?

Gal's Pear Tea was pretty nice too.
It was recommended by one of the staff and gal love it too.

My main course, the Viva Duck Wrap set. It comes with a cup mushroom soup, a small bowl of salad and the duck wrap. The duck meat was nice but it was over powered by the veggies. And for some reason, the veggies were very hard to chew off. It was quite a mess trying to chew it off.

Gal's Tuscan Chicken ! I prefer hers to mine, though hers looks like an ordinary sandwiches. It's juz so simple yet delicious.

I guess the table was too small for all our food. And the dessert was yet to be served. $18 per person for this High Tea Set is definitely worth the value !

Both of us love the mushroom soup. It was thick and yummy-licous !! We finished it up in no time !

slurp slurp ! =p

We order an additional cake on top of the set menu. To leave this place without trying the cakes is as good as not coming here at all.

One sad thing for us, the popular and recommended Adam (Apple cakes) and Eve cakes (Orange Cakes) were sold out !! Hence we gotta settle for an alternative cakes, which is this Caramel Hazelnut chocolate cake, if i get the name correctly.

It was pretty normal and it was quite a sweet cake. People who do not like sweet cakes can avoid this.

Our Gelato Ice-Cream to sum up the day. Some of the more unique flavors were not available, hence we were not able to try it. A dark chocolate scoop for gal.

And a cool and refreshing lychee scoop for me !
Yes, an all lychees day for me it seems. =p

Spotted a nice deco on one of the table

Overall, the place has a very nice ambience and pretty decent food and beverages, but quite costly. A good place to spend your afternoon there

Gal's Cinderella heels ready !

Gal's customised heels is finally ready for collection ! That was almost a month after we had finalised on the design of the shoes.

Gal with the boss of the shop

Found a design that you really like but it's not available? Well, it's always a gal's dream to customise a beautiful pair of wedding shoes for her big day.

There are plenty of advantages having your heels customised. You can choose any color you want, any design you like (provided if you have a photo/drawing of the heels), and perhaps the most important factor, the height of the heels.

Gal is very happy to have her cinderella heels!
Up next, shopping for gal's accessories for the ROM!

Collection of Our ROM Cert

Both of us took a day off from work to run some errands for our ROM, which is approaching. We had an appointment to collect the ROM cert for our solemnization as we will not be having our vows at the Registry of Marriage building.

The original building was undergoing some renovation, and the temporary building was near Tanjong Pagar.

Although we are not having our solemnization at the ROM building, we still have to raise up our right hand and say some vows before we can collect the certificate ! With less than 2 weeks to our ROM, we started to feel nervous and wonder how the event would unfold on that day.

Hope everything will go well !

Mother's Day Celebration at Ma Maison

It Mother's Day and we suggested to bring treat Mum to a dinner at Ma Maison. It was a pretty last minute decision to settle down at Ma Maison, hence we did not manage to make any reservation.

Luckily, we were able to get a table after around 20 mins of wait.

Ma Maison has a nice english cottage interior design

my parents ....

my bro kept avoiding the camera .......

........ but he gave up eventually to let me take a photo of him =p

The Scallop Carpaccio. Not sure if I got the name right. One of the four starters for the nite. Fresh scallops paired with nice salad and ponzu sauce. It was gone within the first few minutes.

Another salad for the nite, Chasoba Salad. Weird for a meat lover, but I did not regret ordering this. Chasoba and salad may seems to be a weird pairing at first, but all the doubts disappeared after eating! The salad, dressing and the chasoba blends perfectly.

It's a dish that can both be an appetizer or a main.

The Baked Potato with cheese. It was gone before I knew it and all was left for me was the remaining cheese on the pan. I bet it was nice =(

The Escargots !!! One of the must-tries in Ma Maison ! The escargots cooked with olive oil and garlic was simply tender and delicious ! Ordered this for my parents and brother to try. All of them were quite afraid to try at first after knowing that they were snails, especially my timid brother !

Kept persuading my brother to give it a try and trying to convince him how nice it is. He finally gave it a shot and was surprised that it is so yummy. Haha, in the end he ate 2 of them and wanted more !

My brother's Hamburger Steak with cheese.

My Mum's surprisingly delicious Carbonara Ma Maison Style Pasta. It was not the usual wet, creamy sauce which is quite "Jelat" to me, and the portion was quite big. Though from the photo it looks like some fried hokkien mee, but they did a good job in cooking this.

Gal loves the pasta too !

My Dad's Seafood Baked Rice .... Lots of cheese !! =p

My Gal and I ordered the Paella (Spanish Rice). This was perhaps the only disappointing dish for the nice. Some of the seafood was not really fresh and the rice was pretty tasteless.

We never have a pleasant Paella experience to date, maybe we should refrain from ordering it again, unless we are in a Spanish Restaurant.

All of us had a gd dinner and we head for some shopping after our dinner.

Gathering @ Watami !!

Met up with my poly friends for dinner and passed them my invites for our ROM. It has been quite a while since we last meet up after the CNY. Dinner was supposed to be at a nice zi char place opposite The Central, but we only found out that it was closed on Sunday on the day itself. A last minute decision to dine at Watami.

Look at the amount of food on the table !! =p
A great feasting session !!

can't wait to start the feast =p

12 yrs of friendships and still counting !!!!
hmm..... did i juz reveal our age??

Helena seems to be in doubt =p

lots of "Liao" for Shabu Shabu !! =p~

The Sashimi tat was not so fresh. Perhaps they have lots of leftovers due the people's fear of Japanese Seafood? The sweet shrimps was not sweet at all, have weird taste instead.

Eyes fixed on the Shabu Shabu =p

Synchronised act ??? =p

Food was average for the nite but great company makes up for it ! Hope to have another session soon. And looking forward to a short trip with all of you !! =)

Two Fat Men (I do not mean us ! =p)

My Gal and I were at Parkway Parade shopping and short-listing the electrical and household appliances for our house. The Best Denki and Harvey Norman @ Parkway Parade seems to have one of the most competitive pricing that I have come across so far. Be sure to compare the pricing between the 2 stores and ask for in-house price, and you will be surprise.

After spending the whole afternoon at Parkway Parade, we headed to Two Fat Men along Upper East Coast Road for dinner as gal has purchased coupons online.

Two Fat Men is a small, cozy chilling place,
which serves a wide variety of beer with Thai and Western food.

Decos of crates filled with beer bottles on the walls

Ordered the Thai milk tea but it doesn't taste as gd as those in Bangkok. I am starting to miss the food in Bangkok !

Ordered Fish & Chip for my main. Not sure y did I actually chose this over many other food. The fish was over fried. It was hard and dry. The fries as well. Regretted ordering this =s

The Tom Yam soup was one of the nicest dish for the night. Sour and Spicy, and it was not diluted. The seafood was fresh.

The wok fried glass noodles was pretty oily and plain

This was suppose to be the star attraction of the place, but it was pretty disappointing. The meat was not slice thinly, hence it was quite tough, hard and dry. The sauce was nice though.

the food seems to be a lot for 2 people

I was taking photos of the food and place without any pressure until one of the waitress suddenly appear in front of me and told me the food will look more natural without the flash. But the place was way too dark. I tried taking without flash, increasing ISO, reducing shutter speed, it still looks terrible and grainy.

And the waitress approached me not only once, 3 times to be exact. Stress si me, maybe I look clueless with the dslr? In the end, my gal told me to ignore the gal's instructions, juz take whichever way I comfortable with =p

Maybe she's a blogger as well? =p
