Our Wedding Bands

Earlier on, we had went to Vivo City to collect our rings. After waiting for almost 3 mths for the fitting of the rings, and another 7 days for the engraving, our wedding bands were finally ready for collection !

A sneak preview of our wedding bands =)

Mini Feast @ Fika Cafe

After we have collected our wedding bands @ Vivo City, gal wanted a mini feast. Since she has bought dining coupons for Fika Cafe, we decided to settle down for our dinner there.

Fika is a Swedish Bistro located near Haji Lane, along Beach Road. According to my gal, it was quite a popular cafe with nice food and cakes. Other then the food at Ikea, I have never tried Swedish cuisine, and all that was in my mind was the meatballs ! =p

cosy interior deco .....
I like the all white furniture.....

gal's juz so in love with picnic basket ....
I still remember i owe her one picnic trip ....

Well, the place was definitely packed !

Gal with our wedding bands.....
Another tick on our wedding checklist ....

Gal ordered a new flavor tea. Suppose to be sweet with floral taste, but it seems bitter to me instead ! Not my kind of tea. And the color of the tea was something like ribena? =s

Speaking of Swedish cuisine, the first dish that came to my mind was the Swedish Meatballs. Probably due to the influence from Ikea. I was struggling between pasta and the meatballs but i ended up ordering the meatballs, simply because I'm in a Swedish cafe.

At first, i kept thinking if i will be full, cos there were only 8 meat balls. After eating the 5th ball, I'm struggling to force the meatball down my throat. The meat balls were nice, initially. As i move on to my 4th and 5th meat balls, i started to feel quite jelat. Think i will be staying away from meatballs for quite some time.

Gal's Grilled Salmon. It was quite tasty and i like the sauce. It could be better if it is not tat dry. Believed the Salmon was slightly over-grilled, hence most of the moisture in the salmon was gone.

Gal with her Salmon .......

.......... and me with the balls ! =p

Our dinner would not be complete without the desserts. Therefore, each of us ordered a desserts. This is gal's choice. It's way to sour for me, especially the berries on the top !! =s

I love my Raspberry Cheesecake !!!! Very nice !! For definitely the choice for cheese lovers !!! From the photo, it seems to resemble a raspberry pie or ice-cream perhaps? =p

All smiles with the desserts =)

Please let me eat my cake !!! =p

Farewell Dinner with Ah Lam

It was Ah Lam's last day and a farewell dinner for him @ Jpot. I have made an reservation but in the end, we still ended up waiting for a gd half an hour before getting the tables. Everything was so wrong from the start. Though I was looking forward to this dinner, the experience in the end was pretty bad.

The special sauces "passed-down" by Rosalyn !!
The chili sauce is gd !

Random shots of random food ......
too hungry to take photos ....

another random shot ....

cook cook ..... eat eat ......

This was the amount of chili in our Tom-Yam base soup. It was crazy !!! And this was actually half the amount. Ah Lam and me were breathing fire near the end of the dinner !!!

Maybe I should give Jpot another chance? Maybe I should go with my gal again? Maybe ..... Maybe ......

Bye Bye Ah Lam, We'll miss ya !!! And there isn't any guy left in the clique to accompany me liao. Wahaha, i can zi bi liao !

Arrival of Our Invites !

After months of planning, our ROM invitation cards has finally arrived ! I have been waiting eagerly for the courier person to come. Time seemed to pass very slowly !

A nicely wrapped up box with our invitation cards inside !!

Unwrapping the box to reveal the cards ! =)

The other side of the cards ....

The couple birds envelope to go with the cards !

And the envelopes have our names on it as well ! =p

Well, gal loves polka dots.
It seems hard to include the polka dots on the background of the cards.
Hence, it appear on the envelopes.

This is the back and front view of the card. It's time for us to sort out the cards and write the guests' name on the envelopes. It is only slightly more than 1 month away from my ROM.

Starting to feel real nervous and worry how the event will unfold on that day.

Halia Wedding Show

Finally, we have a chance to attend the wedding show @ Halia. For some reason, the wedding shows organised by One Rochester and Halia so far crashes. For interested couples, they gotta make a tough choice between one of them.

Having attended 3 weddings show by One Rochester, we decided to check out the Halia. Located at Botanical Garden, the themes they are show casing definite consist of the Garden theme, which I am interested. An opportunity for us to see if there's anything we can improve on as the day draws near.

There were 2 timings for the event, and we sign up for the second wave, which was 6.30pm - 8pm. This was our first trip to Halia.

One of the venue for solemnization.
Also, one of the 2 indoors venue with air-con.
There were a total of 3 venues/themes for solemnisation.

Enjoying our beverages =p

Nice flowers booth !! There were giving away small bouquet of flowers for the couples. Happy to see familiar faces at this event and we chatted quite a bit =)

Sadly, though they have 3 themes, they only set up one theme for the couples to see. The other 2 themes were only shown in the powerpoint slides in their presentation earlier on. It will be better if they have set up 3 tables show casing the 3 different themes.

No one would ever noe the hard work behind these butterflies ......
They were actually manually cut out by the people, not by machine....

hmmm ..... is this suppose to be a dessert counter?
It doesn't look appealing at all ...
No wonder Sarah's idea of having a dessert counter was rejected by Halia ....

Flowers for my gal .....
It'll be nicer if the gerberas were in pink or red instead of yellow ....

It was a pretty good spread ! =)

so were the desserts !

Finally a shot of us together. Time to head back home to rest. The weekend has juz passed. Seems to be pretty short, gotta work tmr. ZzZzZz.

High Tea @ Heart Bistro Cafe

After some shopping at Orchard, it's time for a high tea session at Heart Bistro Cafe @ Palais Renaissance. Reviews on it was pretty good, especially its brunch dishes, hence gal purchased voucher from online for a high tea set for $13. So here we are feasting again.

Guess we are hooked on purchasing stuffs from online. From clothing to now, food vouchers !

Gal's re-fillable coffee .....
she's a coffee freak !!

It was suppose to be a high tea set for 2 @ $13. We questioned about the validity of the voucher when was told it was only for one instead. We were told by the staff that they FORGOT to update on the website that it is suppose to be for one person, but it is ENOUGH for 2 person.

So for $13, this is what we get, which I feel is still quite overpriced ! Food was pretty normal, but what can you expect when you are paying for just $13

After a quick bite, we headed down to Raffles City for look for gal's accessories before heading to Halia Wedding Show in the evening.

Gal's Bro finally back !

Gal's Bro is finally back from India after a 6 weeks stint there for overseas training. I'm sure he does have plenty of stories to share when he's back. Gal suggested to get him a big sunflower to surprise him.

Random shot of gal with sunflower

Another random shot of gal. There were many people waiting at the arrival area for army guys to come out. Among the crowd, there were quite a lot of gals coming alone to meet their boyfriends. 6 wks apart must be quite hard to bear.

Welcome back to Singapore !!
Btw, you did not become as tan as what i expect you to be =p
