Grand Hyatt Bridal Show

The last Bridal show of the month, and also the one that my gal is looking forward to. Unlike the Bridal Show in other hotels, this is strictly a showcase of their ballroom, themes and engaging with their consultants to know more about the wedding packages. It did not invite any other vendors.

Although Grand Hyatt are offering only 2 themes, they have a good varieties of flowers to choose from for the table center piece. The drawbacks? With a pricing of ard $1,300 price tag on a dinner table, was expecting a nice invitation card and flavors.

Read from forums that the invitation cards play a significant roles in determining how much the guests are giving. The invitation card given by Grand Hyatt has only 2 designs, and both are very very simple, doesn't seems to justify the price tag of the banquet. Grand Hyatt also provide their own in-house wedding favors, all of the selections are food, like pineapple tarts, chocolate, etc.... They do not have a vendor to provide the invitation card designs and favors. Even if we opt not to take up their wedding cards and favors, there will not be any discount to the package. =s

Nice, yummy honey !!

Set Lunch provided by the hotel

Nice Appetizer dish !!

Deep-fried Prawn with Wasabe Mayo ....
Nice combination!
surprised tat the wasabe taste does not cover the mayo completely

Drunken Chicken with "Kwee Fai" Jelly
Thumbs up !!

Pan-fried Duck with Lemongrass (^_^)

Steamed Shark's Fin Dumpling in Winter Melon Chicken Broth
not too oily and the dumpling taste delicious !

Braised Abalone and Mushroom in Oyster Sauce and Truffle Oil
Yes, Abalone !!
Usually abalone are serve with veg, but it taste great with mushroom as well !

Sadly, the final dish .... Chilled Almond Cream in Persimmon Bird's Nest serve with Pan-fried Sesame soft cake ! They really go all out to capture potential client's heart ..... Both of us love the pan-fried sesame soft cake. As both of us dun really like almond, we only ate the bird's nest =p

Nice ballroom, nice food, and "NICE" price tag as well. However, the size of the ballroom may pose some problem as the max capacity is only 28 tables. Well, that is if we have the budget to hold a banquet here.

Mothers' Day Celebration

Celebrated Mothers' Day with Annie's family. Annie made a reservation at Traders Hotel. There are quite a few good reviews on the buffet and since it is also part of the Shangri-la Group, was looking forward to the feast. First impression, there was quite a good spread, and the food looks delicious.

And soon, we found out, the food really "looks good", that's it.

preparing her salad dish.......

requested for more smoked salmon, a decision which i regret ....
the smoke salmon taste bland and not fresh

Sushi usually is one of my favourites ....
but the sushi here taste normal

My gal and i were very happy and excited when we spotted snow crabs. Not many places would offer snow crabs under seafood section. Sadly, maybe due to high expectation, the snow crabs does not taste as nice as we though it would be. We were commenting that even the snow crabs at Kushinbo are nicer.

Same goes to the oysters. Look fresh and yummy, but has a foul smell and not fresh at all. Gal's father was also disappointed that most of their seafood are not fresh.

Annie's Bro reaching for clamps ...
spotted by Auntie snapping photo =x
Annie's dad enjoying his food?? got the shiok look =p

hmmm .... juz realise that i am always missing from the "family" photos =p

Pork, Fish, Chicken, prawn, etc ....... u name it ... =p

Nice BBQ prawns and satay ....

The most popular dish !!! The moment the chief replenish it, it'll be gone in 30 sec ! You can see people rushing to queue up to grab this Boston Lobster.

Everyone seems to be enjoying the boston lobster =)

taking a slow walk back ..... time flies.....

Exploring Marina Sands

Went to Marina Sands to explore the newly opened IR. Most of the shops are not open yet but it still drew a large crowd. My gal and i wanted to explore the sky garden, but guess it's either not open to public or still undergoing construction.

All the hotel staffs seems to be quite young, probably 19 or 20 yrs old?? hmm.... seems like we are getting old.......
