Long awaited gathering with my poly friends

Finally, majority of us are able to make it this time round. Inital plan of having steamboat buffet at Crystal Jade @ Holland Village was aborted. The place was packed and were told by the staff that reservation was required. Chin Heng actually called to make a reservation but was told no reservations allowed. No Xiao Long Bao for us......

We walked around the area looking for alternatives before settling down @ Amici. The food this time round was disappointing. My Spaghetti Aglio Olio E Pepechino Con Granchi was way too salty.... After our dinner, we decided to chill @ 2 a.m Dessert Bar. The desserts were average to most of us. Probably it is due to the high expectations, having recommended by many bloggers.

What a fine dining day!! Although the food wasn't as nice as what we expected, the great company certainly do make up for it!! Looking forward to more gatherings soon!!

CNY 初三

It's the 3rd day of CNY and there's no visitings today. Some spare time for both of us. Since it's CNY, we do give ourself a little treat and pamper ourselves for some nice food.

Was shopping in town and decided to have our dinner @ The Handburger at 313 Somerset. This is something which both of us wanted to try for quite some time. Surprise to see that they are still offering Valentine's Day Set menu, hence go for it since it's much more value for money.

maybe the standard at Raffles City is much better ??

After our dinner, we decided to head down to River Ang Bao. This year's event is held at the floating platform. Lots of people, damn squeezy and feeling sticky all over.

CNY cum Valentine's Day

This is my first experience celebrating CNY and V-day on the same day. After a few rounds of house visitings, my gal and i managed to siam and head out for our mini celebration.

Previously, i have always made reservations for dining but not this time round. And it turned out to be a bad decision.

After climbing up a long flight of stairs, dark empty buildings greeted us!! Not only Chalk was closed, other dining places in the vicinity were closed as well. Called up Mykii and thankfully it was open. We immediately rush down in cab.

Marriott Wedding Show

Registered for a wedding show @ Marriott Hotel. As we are looking around for an ideal hotel for our wedding banquet, we try to sign up for any wedding shows held at the hotels that we shortlisted. During the Wedding Show, we can get to sample a few dishes and view the ballroom at the same time.

Both of us like the ballroom and the food. The price is also quite ok given the location of the hotel. However, the minimun no. of tables required for Fridays is 35 and 40 on Sat & Sun !!!! Argh !!!!!

That is way too much for us and there's a likelyhood to suffer more loss as we try to get people to fill up the tables. Sadz...... Looks like we have no choice but to look for other alternatives....
